CDS Direct to HMRC is now live on Thyme-IT
With this most recent development, CDS declarations for non-inventory linked movements into Great Britain will no longer require a CSP badge.
What are Community System Provider (CSPs)?
CSPs are commercial entities that directly interface with HMRC frontier systems including Customs Declaration Service (CDS). There are 5 CSP’s – MCP, CNS, CCS-UK, DHL and Pentant.
As their name suggests, CSPs provide community network services to specific port/airport communities of which HMRC form a part, along with other government agencies and commercial logistics entities such freight forwarders, shipping lines, temporary storage facility operators and haulage companies.
When will you need a CSP?
All import frontier declarations for goods arriving at inventory-linked locations must be submitted to HMRC via the CSP system operating at the location.
Non-inventory linked (RoRo) import declarations into Great Britain will not require a CSP badge. Thyme-IT now provides a direct link to HMRC for customers submitting this type of CDS import declaration.
