Notice to Newly Registered UK Traders
Ahead of the CHIEF closure for exports, HMRC has advised that new CHIEF export badge permissions will not be issued after 20 March 2024.
CHIEF to CDS Migration Timeline
All businesses should move all their export declarations from our Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system to the Customs Declarations Service (CDS). Any newly registered traders should note that after 20 March 2024, new CHIEF export badge permissions will not be issued and that they must subscribe to the CDS.
Existing exporters still have until 4 June 2024 to move their last export declaration from CHIEF to the CDS.
